ClearComp’s Clinical Oversight  program is the cornerstone of consistently delivering superior patient outcomes and greater cost savings for its clients.

ClearComp’s Clinical Oversight program gives payors and employers  the information needed to determine when therapy is no longer effective, preventing unnecessary utilization and costs. It also allows for additional therapy to occur on individual cases where it is shown to be clinically/objectively beneficial.

ClearComp’s Clinical Oversight Program was established to insure that patient’s receive the most effective treatment and that the treatment is cost effective, based on industry standard clinical/treatment guidelines. ClearComp takes a proactive approach to insure only effective PT utilization by objectively communicating with physical therapists, physicians, case managers, and adjusters, based on clinical oversight and established treatment duration parameters as follows:

  1. At the time of referral ClearComp communicates to the treating therapist, case manager, and adjuster the expected number of visits based on the industry gold standard Official Disability Guidelines, (ODG), the claimant’s medical history, and their particular job description.

  2. When a claimant is not demonstrating appropriate functional progress, or when recommended clinical guidelines have been exceeded, (number of visits completed/ordered by treating physician exceeds guidelines), clinical oversight is completed and sent to the treating physician for approval.

  3. The claimant’s treatment is modified, based on clinical oversight findings, (approved by the treating physician), typically discharge from treatment, a tiered reduction in visits, or a Functional Capacity Evaluation to define the claimant’s current capabilities for return to work.  Final authorization or denial is the decision of the adjuster or case manager.
